Melanie Swift, MD, FACOEM
Medical DirectorDr. Swift earned her MD from U.T.-Memphis and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Brown University. She is a board-certified internist, Past President of TCOEM and is a Tennessee delegate to ACOEM. Prior to Dr. Swift joining OHC in 2001, she directed the Ambulatory Internal Medicine Curriculum and the Internal Medicine Resident Continuity Clinics, and was awarded the 2001 F. Tremaine Billings Faculty Teaching Award. Since coming to OHC, her direct focus has been the health and wellbeing of Vanderbilt employees.

Lori Rolando, MD, MPH
Assistant Medical DirectorDr. Rolando earned her MD Degree from Southern Illinois University. She completed her Occupational Medicine residency, as well as her MPH, at Mount Sinai in New York City. She is Board Certified in Occupational Medicine and is certified as a Medical Review Officer. Dr. Rolando also has a surgical background, with board certifications in general and vascular surgery. She oversees the Occupational Health Clinic's OSHA medical surveillance programs and serves on multiple institutional committees to help ensure that the faculty and staff of Vanderbilt are healthy and safe.

Alice Warren, RN, MSN, Med, ANP
Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Clinical ManagerAlice earned a MEd in Exercise Science and Health Promotion; a MSN from Vanderbilt; and a BSN from U.T.'s College of Nursing. She is an ANCC certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and an ABOHN certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist. Alice has been a lecturer at the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. Her background includes: opening a cardiac rehabilitation program, teaching lifestyle change programs of smoking cessation and stress management, and coordinating corporate health promotion programs.

Mark Young, MSN, APN, FNP-BC
Nurse PractitionerMark is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserves with over 28 years of service in various clinical, staff, and command positions during reserve and active duty. Mark's memberships include the ANA/TNA, AANP, ACNP, VFW, AUSA, MOAA, Sigma Theta Tau, and Phi Mu Alpha. He has been a nurse for 27 years with experience in emergency, flight, and military nursing. Mark became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1997 and his professional interests include occupational and military medicine. He is married and has three sons, is active in his church, enjoys music, camping/hiking, and BMW motorcycles.

Sherry Spray, RN, COHN
Occupational Health SpecialistSherry has been a registered nurse for over 15 years. Formerly, she was an Occupational Health Nurse for five years with the U.S.Postal Service. While there, Sherry received her certification in Occupational Health Nursing. For six years prior to that, she was a Nurse Manager overseeing Medical Records, Nursing, Employee Health, and the Radiology Departments at the Nashville Health Care Group. Sherry began her employment with Vanderbilt in August of 2006, and currently manages the FMLA program and she is the OSHA Coordinator.

Patricia Kinman, MSN, RN, CS, FNP
Nurse Practitioner and Clinical ManagerPatricia earned a Master's of Science Degree in Nursing from Vanderbilt School of Nursing and a B.S.-Nursing from Berea College in Kentucky. She is an Instructor in Clinical Nursing at Vanderbilt School of Nursing, and since 1980 has maintained certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Patricia supervises the OHC nurse practitioners and manages clinical operations, and is responsible for OHC quality assurance and environment of care issues.

Cindy Harrison
Administrative Assistant IIICindy has over 20 years of experience in administrative clerical expertise. She has been with Vanderbilt since 1991 and currently acts as Office Manager for the Occupational Health Clinic.

Elaine Dauwalder, MSN, APN, FNP-BC
Nurse PractitionerElaine Dauwalder is a nurse practitioner in the Express Care Clinic, as well as the Occupational Health Clinic. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Tennessee State University. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has worked in primary and acute care settings as a Nurse Practitioner for over 11 years. Elaine has been responsible for opening and managing primary care and acute care clinics in the middle Tennessee area prior to her employment at Vanderbilt.

Vickie Cage, RN, BSN
Occupational Health SpecialistVickie earned a B.S.-Nursing from Western Kentucky University, after receiving her Associates Degree in Nursing from Belmont College. She is currently pursuing her MSN at Vanderbilt. Prior to arriving at Vanderbilt, Vickie worked as a staff nurse and clinical manger in many nursing areas including: Emergency Services, Employee Health, and Same Day Surgery. Vickie provides patient care in the OHC and will staff the Thursday morning OHC at 100 Oaks. She is also the event planner and coordinates on-site and off-site healthcare events.

Valerie Thayer, RN, CIC
Occupational Health SpecialistValerie began her career at Vanderbilt in 1992 as Infection Control Practitioner in the Infection Control Department. In 2004, she joined the staff of OHC and works with faculty and staff in the clinic. Valerie also manages a variety of programs: infectious disease exposures, needle stick/splash injuries, and the influenza vaccine program.
